Today an exhibition at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center featured art works by students in the
Pyramid Atlantic MORE THAN WORDS after school project Adjoa Burrowes and I have been teaching at the Silver Spring International Middle School.

The exhibition included folded books, altered magazine sculptures, collage constructions,
prints, and collages on hand-made paper - the hand made paper was made in class by the students.

Re-cycling was a major theme so the students used cast-off materials to make their art work.
Old magazines

card board slide holders are the bases for the small works which are covered with magazine papers.
The program includes art-making and storytelling. The images in these simple line prints are in response to a telling of Scheherazade and tales from the Arabian Nights.

Pyramid artist Ellouise Schoettler, Gabrielle Morcate, the classroom art teacher, and Pyramid artist Adjoa Burrowes.
The More Than Words project is part of the Pyramid Atlantic Outreach Program.
