Song Sparrow.
I had no idea there were so many kinds of sparrows until we opened the Peterson Guide to identify it.

Black Capped Chickadee - well, maybe. That's what it looked like to us in the Petersen Guide - but a more experienced birder said, "no, way. I can tell you around here its a Carolina Chickadee." I can see there is more to this than I thought.

Red Bellied Woodpecker.
This bird was perched high up in a very tall evergreen tree. The new camera is really showing off.
